How To Create A Mood Board On Pinterest?

Creating a mood board on Pinterest is a very interesting process and you need to do quite some research before you start.

Thus, here are a few steps on how to create a mood board on Pinterest:

Step 1: Create a New Pinterest Board

  • Go to Pinterest and log in.
  • Click your profile picture (top right).


  • Click “+” > Create board.
  • Name your board (e.g., “Boho Living Room Mood Board”).
  • Optionally, make it secret if it’s just for you.

  • Click Create.
   

Step 2: Search for and save Pins

  • Use the search bar to find images, ideas, or keywords (e.g. “boho sofa,” “boho bedroom ideas,” “boho living room”).
  • When you find a Pin you like, hover (or tap) and click “Save,” then choose your new mood board.

  • Repeat to gather a variety of textures, color swatches, furniture, typography examples—anything that contributes to your theme.
     

Step 3: Organize with Sections

  • Open your board and click “Organize” and then click on the “Create Section” icon.
  • Create sections like “Color Palette,” “Textures,” “Furniture,” or “Bedroom Ideas.”
  • Move Pins into the appropriate sections to keep everything neatly grouped.

Step 4: Add your own images

  • Click “+” → “Create Pin” → “Upload image.”
  • Upload photos or sketches from your computer or phone (e.g. fabric swatches, your own photos).
  • Add a brief title/description and save to your board or a section.
